Who Are These Kansas City Planners?
A Special Occasion is the brainchild of talented and educated women living in Kansas City, Missouri. Each of us had been planning events separately during the early years. We each had a dream of being a planner with such style and professionalism that we would be able to make anyone’s vision become a reality right before their eyes. Neither of us knew it at the time but when the dream was born we each would be just what the other needed. During our partnership we have been developing almost 30 years of certified experience collectively.
We are enthusiastic and creative businesswomen whose goal is to provide a unique and professional style of event planning and coordination. We are a three-time award winning minority and woman owned planning firm. As a small business we strive to offer valuable and positive experiences through service to our customers and our community. We feel life moments should be celebrated and our priority is to allow clients to feel comfortable and confident that everything seen in their vision is executed with finesse, and expertise.

My experience goes back almost 20 years in planning events. It started in helping to plan the Christmas party for one of my employers. After planning that event, I began planning various things for employers and friends alike. I realized what my true passion was to own my own Event Planning company. I also have experience planning international events in various countries. Watching an event come together is the motivation for everything I do. I love creating the best life celebrations and lifetime memories.

I have been planning/coordinating events since high school. What started as a passion, opened up the doors for a business venture in Event Planning/Coordination. I enjoy working with and for people, which has been over 20 years of my experience. Within those years I have planned such events as Women Retreats, Leadership Workshops, Women’s Breakfasts and Family Reunions. I want to help make your vision all that you want it to be. Together, we can create lifetime memories.
